Ribbon Cartridges

Genuine, Compatible, and Remanufactured Ribbon Cartridges

Ink Ribbons have been around since the typewriter era. They are common in dot matrix printers and cash register receipt printers. The ribbons are evenly coated with ink and apply ink to the paper when pressure is applied over the ribbon.

Genuine OEM ribbon cartridges are manufactured by the original brand name manufacturer of the printer. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.

Compatible ribbon cartridges are manufactured by non-OEM manufacturers but use new parts within the assembled products.

Remanufactured ribbon cartridges are manufactured using OEM materials that have already been used within the printing process. Remanufactured toner cartridges work and act just like OEM ribbon units at the fraction of the cost.
